Newly appointed Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil and goalkeeper trainer Fatawu Dauda were spotted at the Black Satellites training ground as they prepare for their semifinal clash against Senegal.

The Ghana U20 team will lock horns with West African neighbours, Senegal at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.

However, the two coaches took it upon themselves to visit the team ahead of their crucial game against Senegal. Their presence is expected to motivate the squad as they seek to beat Senegal to reach the finals of the 13th African Games Men’s Football competition.

Paintsil and Dauda will seize the opportunity to scout the best U20 players for the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars.

The duo will assist head coach Otto Addo following their appointment at the weekend.

The new Black Stars backroom staff will lead the team later this week for the international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda in Marrakech, Morocco.

The team is expected to qualify for next year's AFCON as well as the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA.

Otto Addo, who has made a sensational return for a second spell with the Black Stars has released a 26-man squad for the two friendlies.

He named four debutants Frederick Asare, Nathaniel Adjei, Mohammed Diomande and Ibrahim Osman in his squad for the international friendlies.

But Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams and Joseph Paintsil were excluded from the team for the upcoming friendlies.

Partey, who plies his trade for Arsenal personally requested for his exclusion from the squad to fully gain fitness following recent injuries.

On the other hand, the Athletico Bilbao star pulled out of the games to have some rest and fully recover from recent injury setbacks.

Meanwhile, Paintsil could not travel to join Black Stars due to immigration documentation issues.

“As a result of his move to the United States, there are some further immigration documentation procedures he must embark upon which is why he is unable to travel outside the United States until the process is completed” the FA wrote on social media explaining Joseph Paintsil omission.
