New Manchester City Star Gabriel Jesus Jets in From Brazil to Support Teammates Against Chelsea

Gabriel Jesus is set to join up with theManchester City squad, as theDaily Mailreport that the young staris preparing to fly to England on Thursday in timeto watch his new teammates play Chelsea.


19-year-old Gabriel signed for City in August for an eye-watering£27m, but was allowed to complete the season in Brazil for club side Palmeiras, as part of the deal.


As a mark of respect to theChapecoense players and coaches, as well as the others who tragically died in a plane accident, the Brazilian domesticseason has now been postponed.

Gabriel posted an Instagram photo of his flight preparations, as the forward completed a successful period in his homeland, helpingPalmeiras to lift the league title, whilescoring five goals in his last six appearances for Brazil.


He is expected tobe introduced to his new teammates on Friday, and fans will be relishing seeing the new starlink up with the likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterlingand Kevin de Bruyne in attack under Pep Guardiola.

Gabrielis expected to wear the number 33 shirt at City, which carries special significance for him andhas worn the same number on his back for Palmeiras.


The Citizenssigned Leroy Sané and John Stones, as well as Jesus in the summer, in an attempt to form a young squad that can enjoy a prolonged period of success under Guardiola.


A crucial period of fixtures await City in the Premier League title race, while the Etihad clubstill have Liverpool and Arsenal after the showdown withChelsea on Saturday.
