New players committing to future not only World Cup - Black Stars technical advisor Hughton

Black Stars technical advisor Chris Hughton has disclosed that says that players who recently switched their international allegiance to Ghana are committed to the future not only the World Cup.

Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams, Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu, as well as Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Tariq Lamptey are now eligible to represent Ghana at international level.

The trio join two players thus, Stephen Ambrosius, Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer and Patric Pfeiffer in committing to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

"The nation wants us to have the best squad. They want us to have the best opportunity to do well in the world cup and to do well in the world cup, we need the best squad," Hughton told TV3.

"Anybody that has now shown an allegiance to represent the Black Stars, it’s not just about tomorrow, it’s about next year, the year after and the year after going into the future. Anybody that is committing is not just committing to the world cup, they are committing to the future."
