New Watford Kingsley Fobi signing sets sight on Black Stars call up

Former Ghana under-20 captain Kingsley Fobi says his target is to make it into the Black Stars team after signing for English Premier League side Watford.

The right back joined from the Pozzo owned Udinese after spending loan spells with Granada B.

Kingsley Fobi signed a four year deal but will be sent on loan to Spanish lower tier side SD Formentera.

The 19 year old told Kumasi based Radio Station Abusua FM he is excited to have signed for the Hornets and he is looking forward to earning a call up into the Black Stars team.

“Watford has signed me for Four (4) years. My target is to have a lot of playing time and get the opportunity to play for the black stars,” he said on Abusua FM.

“I am very excited to play for a club like Watford and it has always been my dream to play in the premiership,” he added.

“I wanted to back to udinese but I had a called from my agent that Watford needs me and they made me understand that after signing me,I will be loaned out SD Formentera in Spain.”

“A lot of things have changed from 2013 to 2017. I am more than prepared to play for the black stars.”

“We have a lot of great coaches in Ghana but the problem is we don't have good facilities as compared to Europe.”

The former right to dream academy right back was part of the under-20 team that played in New Zealand 2015.
