The trust is slowly coming back among Newcastle United fans toward those in positions of power at St. James' Park.
When transfer stories break in the press now, there is far less scepticism around the deals, and in general there is an air of optimism around Tyneside now.
It helps that the players Rafa Benitez has bought have all made sense. There has been no blowing of cash on wishy-washy wingers with a dubious attitude and a questionable desire to match up to a more physical style of play.
Instead Benitez has worked quickly and thoroughly to source the right people and bring them in with as little hassle as possible. So far, he has identified all the problem areas and addressed them.
Defensive midfielder? Check. Winger to replace Andros Townsend and Moussa Sissoko? Absolutely. Bring in another forward and defender in order to add strength in depth? Welcome to the squad Dwight Gayle and Grant Hanley.
But even when there are faint question marks over players, the Toon Army are willing to stay positive and believe that Benitez can get the best out of his men, and that he is buying the best players available for the job.
Several Blackburn Rovers fans have spoken about how Hanley can lack pace and his concentration lets him down at times, but Geordies all around the globe are willing to put those initial concerns to one side and see how the Spaniard can work his magic on the squad.
Another thing that goes hand in hand with the trust in the transfer market is the club's welcomed pivot towards improving relations with the fans.
Things like supporting the excellent Gallowgate Fans project, and using social media to present a softer, less corporate side of the club have worked well - and have really helped to engage with supports who otherwise felt marginalised by Mike Ashley's regime.
But mainly, and especially with deals in the transfer market, the reputation of Benitez and the way the whole team has acted during the window is changing the way fans think about Newcastle - and hopefully changing the way they handle transfers forever.
