Next Asante Kotoko Board and Management must be given ten years - Ysuif Chibsah pleads with Manhyia

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Yusif Chibsah has pleaded with Manhyia to award the next Board and Management at least five to ten years to run the club.

His comments come after Dr Kwame Kyei-led board of directors and Nana Yaw Amponsah's led management was dissolved following the expiration of their three-year mandate.

With a new board and management expected to be named before the start of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Chibsah beleives the previous mistakes of awarding three mandates must not be repeated.

According to him, at least a five to ten years stay must be considered by Manhyia.

“Three-year terms for Asante Kotoko management and board not helping the club. Three years ago, Kotoko was at the same point that we are today," he told Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM.

"We have tried this method to two-three times and it’s not helping so I am pleading with Manhyia to give the next board and management at least five and ten years.

"This period will help in implementing policies and strategies in achieving his goals and target. Three years in football is too short," he added.

Asante Kotoko meanwhile ended the 2022/23 Ghana football season trophyless.
