Barcelona forward Neymar believes that the Catalan giants canstill catch La Liga leaders Real Madrid and insists that he and his teammates are still thirsty to retain their title.

Luis Enrique's side cruised to a 3-0 home victory over Athletic Bilbao last Saturday which means they now sit just a point behind Madrid at the top of the table.

Whilst the gap at the top appears narrow, Los Blancos currently have two games in hand and were given an unexpected rest last weekend when their match withCelta Vigo was postponed, after theEstadio Municipal de Balaidos was deemed unsafe due to damage caused by heavy storms.

Zinedine Zidane's men have only lost a single league match so far this year, but whilst many expect them to now go on andclaim their first La Liga title in five years, Neymar insists that Barcelona are capable of catching them.

He told Red Bull (as quoted byFourFourTwo):"I know it's a little hard, but nothing is impossible.

"Last year, we were 12 points ahead of second place - and we only won by one or two (points), if I'm not mistaken.

"There are still a lot of games to go, a lot of matches, anything can happen, and we are really focused. We are thirsty for the title and we're going for it."

Despite his insistence that Real Madrid could be caught, Neymar went on toacknowledge the enormity of the task when he suggested that in his opinion, La Liga was the best league in the world, ahead of the likes of Serie A, the Bundesliga and the Premier League.

He added:"I think it's currently the best league, the Spanish league.

"(Spanish clubs) have been winning virtually all the international titles in the last three years ... (with the Champions League) interchanging between Barcelona and (Real) Madrid.

"Also, Sevilla won the UEFA (Europa League), so I think Spain is pretty much ruling lately. There are other clubs and other players that are excellent - real stars in other leagues - but I think Spain is excelling the most."
