Nice president Rivère admits Balotelli could stay

Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère admits Mario Balotelli could yet stay next season.

The former AC Milan striker comes off contract next month.

“I'll only say two things about Mario," Rivère said at the presentation for Pierre Lees-Melou, Adrien Tameze and Jean-Victor Makengo.

“The first is that we have a player who wants to stay with Nice. The second is that he's ready to make the financial effort and we're continuing to work."

Roma have been linked with a move for Ivorian midfielder Jean Michaël Seri, but the Aiglons patron says no offer has been received.

“I think I've always been very, very clear on the subject. Mika is part of our project and to date I haven't received an offer.

“We have a moral engagement with Mika, at a certain amount. Full stop. He's on holiday right now, he's resting and I can assure you he's with us."
