Nigeria-Ghana not just a friendly match – Kenneth Omeruo

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo believes his outfits game against the Black Stars of Ghana goes beyond friendly and for that matter, they will fight to secure victory.

The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finalists will engage the four-time AFCON winners in an international friendly game on Friday at 4pm.

The highly competitive game is expected to be played at the Grande de Stade Marrakesh in Morocco.

Nigeria and Ghana played out a drawn game in both legs in their last meetings during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana played out a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi before holding the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in Nigeria, edging them out on away goal rule. However, both teams will be aiming for victory to earn the bragging right.

“It’s good to see the boys again after the AFCON in Ivory Coast. We’ve been training and working on our tactics to play this game. It’s usually not a friendly game against Ghana, so we are ready for the game and we will go out there to win the game” he said.

Nigeria legend Finidi George leads the team for the crucial friendly against Ghana after being name as interim coach for the March international friendlies.
