Nigeria defender William Troost-Ekong wants his side to be more clinical ahead of the crucial World Cup second leg tie against Ghana this evening.

The tension is building up for the massive showdown at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja which hold the destiny over 200 million Nigerian fans.

The Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first leg and are hoping to secure qualification on home turf.

The Black Stars landed in Abuja on Monday in preparation for the second part of the play-off against Nigeria.

Ahead of the cagy encounter, the Watford defender has called on his teammates to be more clinical in order to beat Ghana to secure qualification.

“And of course, the boys scored at the AFCON [in the group stage], so I am not worried about scoring goals at all. I see the forwards in training every day; I see what they have done in the Nigeria jersey,” Troost-Ekong said at his pre-match press conference.

“We have learned from the first leg and we will try to exploit the defence in a different way.

“We still managed to get through them once or twice in the first leg and we just have to be more clinical,” he added.

A scoring draw will see Ghana qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup mundial in Qatar in November this year whiles Nigeria needs a win to make it at the expense of Ghana.

Nigeria are in search of their 7th World Cup qualification whereas Ghana chase their 4th qualification.
