NLA ready to back Asante Kotoko ahead of Champions League participation - Sammy Awuku assures

Director of National Lotteries Authority [NLA], Sammy Awuku has assured that his outfit is ready to back Asante Kotoko ahead of the CAF Champions League participation next season.

The Reds following their Premier League triumph will represent the country in the Champions League next season.

At the start of the season, the Porcupine Warriors entered into a 1 million Ghana cedis a season partnership with the country’s lotteries governing body through its “Atena” Game.

And ahead of their participation in the Champions League next season, Awuku says they are ready to support the club to participate in the CAF's elite division.

According to him, NLA's image has been enhanced since its partnership with the club.

“We’ve got a lot of positive brand image since our association with them. We were able to also market our “Atena” game," he said.

“I will make a case on their behalf to the board of the NLA for them to have a positive consideration of them.

“They have indicated that they are going out of Africa and it will be nice for them to be able to count on our support to achieve greater success,” he added.

Nana Yaw Amponsah, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the club together with his management team and the playing body presented the trophy to NLA boss, Sammy Awuku at the headquarters of NLA on Thursday afternoon.

Asante Kotoko will wrap up their 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season with an away game against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday with kick-off at 15:00GMT.
