No local coach can replace C.K Akonnor - Mohammed Polo

Ghana legend Mohammed Polo believes no local coach is ready to replace CK Akonnor as Black Stars coach.

The 47-year-old was sacked by the Ghana Football Association together with his assistants after an unimpressive performance in Ghana’s Group G World Cup qualifying matches against Ethiopia and South Africa.

Coach Akonnor won four, drew two, and lost four of his 10 games in charge of the team.

"We are having a problem because we are not developing our coaches. The FA doesn't have any criteria for the development processes," Polo told Kumasi based OTEC FM

"Who is coming on board if we decide to go for in for another local coach?

"We have some to tell them [GFA} should they bring in any foreign coach and he fails. You should empower your local coaches.

"We need to go deeper, what is happening goes deeper than what we are seeing," he concluded.

Ghana currently have three (3) points after the two opening matches.

The Black Stars will take on Zimbabwe in the next round of games in October 2021.
