No new striker in Kotoko Africa squad

Published on: 04 January 2018

There’s no new striker in Asante Kotoko’s team for the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.

And instantly, that development is turning out to be a source of worry for the teeming supporters of the club. Many of them are of the opinion that, the quality of their strike force, evident in the list submitted to CAF for the inter club competition is suspect.

Asante Kotoko placed 5th in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League but qualified for the Confederation Cup by virtue of their triumph in the MTN FA Cup.

Managers of the club have promised to excel in Africa but following the release of their 26-man squad, the fans are unconvinced about the team’s chances because they signed no new striker.

Kotoko scored 23 and conceded 22 goals in the league last season.

With that poor record, the supporters have legitimate fears especially when the team hasn’t gone beyond the second preliminary round in their last three attempts in Africa from 2013.

Below is the full list.
