There is no winning bonus for the foreign based Black Stars players – Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye

Sports Minister Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye has revealed his office does not have enough cash to pay invited foreign based Black Stars players winning bonuses should they win against Rwanda in the final 2017 Afcon qualifier.

The Stars are scheduled to play the Amavubi in Accra in a dead rubber this weekend but the major talking point has been the decision of the Ministry not to grant players tickets due to financial constraints.

The players however managed to fly down to play the game but the minister has added more to the developments by insisting his outfit budgeted for local players who he advised are used to honour the game.

“There is nothing on my table as cash for winning bonus for the Black stars.” “I have already told the GFA that I don’t have the budget to support foreign based players in this match.” “If they insist to use them, I don’t have the money to pay them. I only have something little as compensation to our local players if they are allowed to play.”
