Nobody has laid a curse on Black Stars- Abdul Razak

Former Black Stars player Abdul Razak has rubbished claims of a curse being the cause of the barren AFCON trophy run of the current Black Stars team.

The last time the senior men's team won the AFCON was in 1982 and have failed to win it since then despite entering three finals.

They lost their first final in 1992 to Ivory Coast on penalties and went on to lost to Egypt in the 2010 final thanks to a lone goal.

Their third final appearance was against Ivory Coast once again in 2015 and they lost on penalties after a 0-0 stalemate.

Fingers have been pointed at the old guard for causing this but Razak has strongly denied those accusations.

"Why do people keep saying that Black Stars have been cursed. Who says a player has cursed the team that Ghana will not win any cup if the housing promises made to us are not fulfilled."

"Nobody has laid curses on anybody, it's their guilty conscience that's killing them. Anytime something goes wrong they tend to remember that they made promises that have not been fulfilled."

"They should honour their promises if they believe that's working against the team and everybody will be free from the so-called bondage, it's just simple. So for me I don't buy into this myth that Ghana will not win any trophy if the government continues to ignore us. If that's the case like we'd come out openly to say it. Me per se will say it without blinking because nobody can harm me."
