Nothing wrong with Kwesi Appiah seeking third stint as Black Stars coach - Karim Zito

Dreams FC coach, Karim Zito has backed Kwesi Appiah's decision to return as the head coach of the Black Stars for the third time.

Appiah has confirmed that he has applied for the vacant Black Stars role.

The national team has been without a head coach following the resignation of Otto Addo after Ghana's poor performance at the 2022 Mundial in Qatar.

The Black Stars recorded a win and two defeats and finished at the bottom of Group H with three points.

Despite the public backlash after Appiah confirmed he has applied for the job, Zito has backed the Kotoko legend for the job.

According to him, there is nothing wrong with Appiah seeking to be the head coach for the third time.

"There is nothing wrong with Kwesi Appiah reapplying for the Black Stars job," he said in an interview.

"He has been there and he knows what it takes to coach the team," he added.

Meanwhile, multiple reports have emerged that Chris Hughton has been named as the head coach of the Black Stars.

The Black Stars will regroup in March for their doubleheader against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers.
