According to reports, Nottingham Forest are competing with fellow Championship side Watford for the signature of Christian Atsu.
The 28-year-old has fallen out of favor with Steve Bruce with the Newcastle manager telling him to search for another club.
It is understood that negotiations are underway with Watford for a deal but Nottingham Forest may hijack it before the transfer window ends tonight.
Atsu has featured for the likes of Chelsea and Porto among others in his career so far.
