Al Sadd Football Club have confirmed that it has terminated its contract with Ghanaian captain Andre Ayew.
The agreement was reached by mutual consent and was announced via a social media statement.
"OFFICIAL: Al-Sadd SC has reached an agreement with Andre Ayew to terminate his contract with the club by mutual consent," the club said on Twitter.
The 33-year-old midfielder had five months left on his two-year deal with the club.
No reason was given for the termination. Ayew joined Al Sadd as a free agent in July 2021 and played in 30 league games, scoring 18 goals.
He won the Qatar Stars League in his first season with the club. There are rumors that Ayew could join rival club Al Rayyan.
