Experienced striker Benjamin Tweneboah has extended his contract with Elmina Sharks ahead of the opening weekend of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
The striker has been with the Central Regional club for quite some time now and has been able to establish himself as one of their top players.
In the past week, the management of the club has been in negotiations with the attacker to have him renew his contract to ensure they have him for the upcoming season.
In a post on the club’s official Twitter handle this afternoon, they have confirmed that indeed Benjamin Tweneboah has agreed to extend his stay.
“He has signed!!! We're delighted to announce that our top marksman and playmaker, Tweneboah Benjamin has renewed his contract with us”, the post said.
A delighted Benjamin Tweneboah also told Sharks media, “I am finally happy to put the issue of contracts behind me and to go into the new season fully committed. Sharks is now part of my family and I am happy to play a part of the team's forward match”.
He is expected to play a key role for Sharks throughout the Ghana Premier League season.
