Emmanuel Gyamfi has signed a one-year contract extension with Asante Kotoko.

Gyamfi was expected to leave the club at the end of the season but after fruitful negotiations, the winger has agreed to stay at the club.

The 26-year old will take home Ghc4,500 as monthly salary in his new contract for the next 15 months.

Gyamfi, who is the deputy captain for the side has been influential in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

He was criticized in the early stages of the season but has found his rhythm under Mariano Barreto in the second half of the season.

In the absence of Felix Annan, who is the captain of the side, Gyamfi has been phenomenal for the Porcupine Warriors.

In the last four Kotoko matches, he has been in good form as he has scored three goals in 21 matches all season his best ever goal tally since joining.

Emmanuel Gyamfi joined Kotoko as a free agent in 2016 after having stints with then Wa All Stars and lower-tier side Shirak FC.

Kotoko will host WAFA in the matchday 26 game at the Obuasi Lane Clay Stadium this weekend.
