OFFICIAL: Majeed Ashimeru signs new 5-year deal to extend stay at Red Bull Salzburg

Ghanaian International Majeed Ashimeru has signed a new five-year contract to extend his stay with Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

His initial contract was expected to end in 2020 but following the contract extension, the former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) player will stay with Salzburg until May 24, 2024.

The midfielder joined Red Bulls in the summer of 2017 but could not outrightly break into the starting lineup. Due to that, he was forced to go on loan to Austrian second-tier side Austria Lustenau.

Six months later, he was re-loaned to top-flight side RZ Pellets WAC for the remainder of the 2017/2018 season where he impressed. In the just-ended season, played on loan with Swiss Super League side FC St. Gallen.

Ahead of the upcoming season, Majeed Ashimeru will be hoping to cement a place in the starting lineup of Red Bulls Salzburg.
