Left Newcastle after just one season, Spanish deep-lying midfielder Mikel Merino (22) has officially joined Real Sociedad, on a 5-year deal. Magpies had bought him back from Borussia Dortmund on a 7 million euros fee, and have now signed him over on almost twice the sum (12€m).
