Olympics keep tabs on former Medeama coach Tom Strand

Accra Great Olympics are keeping their tabs on former Medeama coach Tom Strand as replacement for under pressure player coach Godwin Attram.

Attram, who captain the team two seasons ago in the Ghana Premier league and led them through division one to secure a return to elite football, has come under mounting pressure following the side's unflattering start to the 2016/2017 season.

The Wonder Club are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table after picking just two points from five games hence the need for a tested technical brain in the dag-out.

According to earlier media reports, the 35-year-old Tom Strand is interested in the Olympics job.

In an interview with Nhyira FM, Chairman of Olympics Fred Pappoe revealed management is keeping a close check on the Swedish manager as they seek to name a new coach.

“There has been no decision to bring on board Tom Strand even though he has been recommended alongside other coaches.” He said.

Strand is back in Ghana after he absconded from Medeama's camp during a 2016 CAF Confederation Cup against Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa in May last year.
