1898: the F.I.G.C. was founded

1997 - 2002: Montella's double days
16 March was a day of double goals in the career of Vincenzo Montella. The 'aereoplanino' scored two goals in 1997 in Sampdoria's 3-0 win over Reggiana at the Marassi, and five years later he repeated the achievement with Roma in the 3-1 win over Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico.
