Manchester United legend Roy Keane and Martin O'Neill have penned new deals with the FAI.
O'Neill and Keane have agreed to remain in charge of the Republic of Ireland even if they fail to qualify for Russia 2018.
O'Neill revealed that his contract is set to be extended by two years and he is excited by the prospect of Euro 2020 matches being hosted in Ireland's capital.
"They (the FAI) said they would like to extend my contract with the Euros coming up and I've agreed to do so," said the 65-year-old. "With the Euros and the possibility of qualification and some games being in Dublin, there are exciting times ahead."
Assistant boss Keane had spoken of returning to club management but O'Neill believes the former Manchester United captain is now happy to stay on.
"Roy is his own man and at some stage he'll manage again," said O'Neill. "The time with myself and Ireland has been good for him.
"I was nearly going to say that he's mellowed, but he's certainly not done that. In fact, he might have got worse! But he's been excellent for me and I actually think he's enjoying it here, too."
