Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo, is optimistic the Phobians will turn their season around in the second round of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.

He admits getting just two points from their first three games was not a start they anticipated. That resulted in the sacking of Samuel Boadu and the hiring of Slavko Matic.

Opare Addo says the hiring of Serbian had an immediate positive impact on the results of the team and things will get better in the second round of the season.

"If you look at it, the first three games, we got two points. That was not the kind of result we anticipated or needed," he told Asempa FM.

"When we brought in Matic and this backroom staff. Immediately there were good responses and we continued that way.

"We play the good football and we create the chances, but if you don’t score, you don’t get the points.

"We are very hopeful in the second round. We will play our final first round game on Saturday [against Berekum Chelsea]. When we start again, between now and the time the second round will begin, we’ll get better."

Hearts of Oak are sixth on the league log with 25 points from 16 games and will play their final game of the first round on Saturday at Accra Sports Stadium.
