Osei Palmer calls on new Ghana government to help the Black Stars win AFCON 2017

Management committee member of the Black Stars, Winfred Osei Palmer has called on the New Ghana government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to aid the Black Stars search for glory at AFCON 2017 slated for Gabon.

Ghana have missed out on the African title for more than 32 years and will need to return to winning ways to please their home fans.

However, executive committee member of the GFA Osei Palmer believes they need full government support to excel.

The NDC government represented at the sports ministry by Nii Lante Vandepuje had a frosty relationship with the FA and Palmer is hopeful the new government will support their course to reach the ultimate.

“They are confronted with the first task of bringing home the Africa Cup of Nation.”

“The New Government will have to solidify the relationship between themselves and the FA to ensure we work together to bring home the Nations Cup next year else Ghanaians won’t forgive them.” He told Joy FM.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group D of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations alongside seven time African Champions Egypt, Uganda and Mali.
