Austin Football Club's Sporting Director, Rodolfo Borrell, has expressed his confidence in the abilities of Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari, stating that the player possesses the ideal characteristics that align with the club's signing criteria.

Borrell made these remarks during an interview conducted as part of Bukari's introductory media engagement, following his move to the club on a three and a half year contract from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade.

Bukari himself revealed that Borrell initiated the recruitment process after being impressed by the Black Stars player's performance in a derby victory over Partizan Belgrade. This pivotal moment sparked Borrell's interest in bringing Bukari to Austin.

In reaffirming his stance, Borrell emphasized that Bukari's skill set and attributes perfectly align with the club's desired player profile.

“Well it’s not only about one game obviously…It’s about looking at the characteristics we are looking for a player each one of the positions that we are trying to implement the way we want to play and he was one of the ones who fit in this profile. In the end we got it over the line and he is finally here.”

Bukari's arrival marks the second Ghanaian international to join Major League Soccer (MLS), following winger Joseph Paintsil's move from Belgian side KRC Genk to LA Galaxy.
