Otto Addo has given Ghana a squad that will help us challenge for trophies in the future – Sannie Daara

A former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara has shot down assertions that Coach Otto Addo and the Black Stars' campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup was a disaster.

According to him, although the Black Stars could not advance to the Round 16 stage of the tournament in Qatar, Coach Otto Addo managed to leave a good squad that will challenge for titles in the near future.

Speaking on Joy News on Tuesday night, Sannie Daara said he is confident the current squad will be capable of winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in a few years’ time.

“Otto Addo has been able to give us a squad that can challenge titles in the future. They are capable of winning the Afcon,” Sannie Daara said.

The former GFA Director of Communications added, “They can play two or three world cups because most of them are in their early 20s which is good for any country.

“I disagree with the assertion that the team was a disaster.”

Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup won one game in Group H and lost the other two matches.

Just amassing three points could not help the Stars to go through to the knockout stage.
