Otto Addo on Ghana’s defending from set pieces as they prepare to face Nicaragua

Otto Addo has detailed how Ghana worked to improve their defending at set-pieces following defeat to Brazil last Friday in a pre-World Cup friendly.

The five-time champions thrashed the Black Stars 3-0, with Marquinhos and Richarlison scoring from a set-piece.

PSG centre-back Marquinhos gave Brazil the lead by nodding home a ninth-minute corner from Raphinha before Tottenham striker Richarlison combined twice with Neymar, sweeping into the bottom corner from the edge of the area, before meeting a free-kick.

"We had some useful discussions about set pieces," coach Addo said at his pre-match press conference.

"Yesterday we trained them again and we hope that we improve in that and we don’t concede goals anymore like that."

The Black Stars will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Nicaragua on Tuesday.

The match will take place at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Lorca at 18:00 GMT.
