Borussia Dortmund youth development coach Otto Addo is expected to build a solid team capable of competing with any national team during the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers and in the 2022 World Cup.

The former Black Stars player aided by Mas Ud Didi Dramani, Chris Hughton and George Boateng did a marvelous job by qualifying Ghana for the World Cup on the back of a poor performance at AFCON 2021.

With Otto Addo confirming his release by Dortmund, he is expected to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming qualifiers and the World Cup respectively.

"I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September and also the World Cup," Addo said in a podcast of Hamburger Abendblatt.

However, Otto Addo and his technical crew will hope to build a formidable squad to compete with other national teams in both the qualifiers and the World Cup.

Ghana have been handed a tricky Africa Cup of Nations draw, as they face Madagascar, Angola and Central African Republic in Group E of the qualifiers.

The Black Stars will open their account in the qualifiers against Madagascar on June 1 at the Cape Coast stadium which has been approved by the Confederation of African Football.

Otto Addo and his technical team will also lead the Black Stars in the upcoming World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Ghana has been paired against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in Group H.
