Last week, the Executive Council of the GFA approved the decision of the five-member Black Stars head coach search committee to appoint Addo as the new coach.

This marks Addo's second stint with the Black Stars, having previously guided the team to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Addo was offered a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24 months, indicating a long-term commitment to the team.

Coach Addo will be traveling back to Borussia Dortmund to officially hand over his duties there before taking up the Ghana job permanently in May this year.
