Otto Addo to bring in more European born players ahead of Afcon qualifiers and World Cup

Black Stars gaffer Otto Addo is set to bring more Ghanaian players born abroad ahead of the Afcon qualifiers and 2022 World Cup footballghana.com can report.

The Black Stars will come up against Madagascar, Angola and Central Africa Republic in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Cape Coast Stadium has been approved to host the opener against Madagascar.

For the World Cup Ghana is Group H with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea. The Black Stars of Ghana will play their first game in the 2022 World Cup against Portugal.

A lot of players are prepared to wear the colors of Ghana and Coach Otto Addo will select those that fit his philosophy and give them a call up ahead of the Afcon qualifiers and 2022 World Cup.

One player who is determined to play for Ghana is Bristol striker Antoine Semenyo. He was set to play for the Black Stars for the first time against Nigeria but an injury blocked his chance.

He revealed that he is ready to play in the Afcon qualifiers so that Ghanaians will know what he can do.

“I’m hoping to come for the qualifiers in June. I am ready to go. I am ready physically, and mentally to play on the African continent,” Semenyo told Accra based Happy FM.

“I haven’t established myself to the Ghana fans and the Coach so I want to play as many games so I can show the people what I can do,” he added.
