Otto Addo will be missed - Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl

Borussia Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl has asserted that the personality of Otto Addo will be greatly missed at Dortmund.

Otto is back for a second spell with the Black Stars after being handed with a 34-month contract with an option for a further 24-months.

The former Ghana international replaces Chris Hughton, who was shown the exit door following the Black Stars calamitous performance at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast.

Ghana suffered elimination from the tournament after failing to progress from the group stage.

Kehl remarked, "We will lose an outstanding coach and a great person in Otto Addo."

"I know that the national team has always been something very special for Otto, despite his long-standing ties to BVB."

"Nevertheless, I am happy for him, and I am sure that he will give his best for BVB until the summer and that we will remain in close contact beyond that," Kehl added.

He will begin his reign as head coach of the national team during the March international break. Ghana will play Nigeria and Uganda on March 22 and March 26 respectively.

Otto Addo will return to Dortmund after the international break to continue his job with the club until the end of the season. He is expected to assume permanent Ghana role in May.

Addo's return to Ghana marks his second stint with the national team, following his successful guidance of the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar during his initial tenure.
