Our first-half performance against Great Olympics was poor - Accra Lions coach Ibrahim Tanko

Accra Lions head coach, Ibrahim Tanko, says they had a poor first-half performance against Great Olympics.

His comments come after his side suffered a 3-0 defeat against Olympics on Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the final game of matchday five.

Two goals from Michael Yeboah and a strike from Emmanuel Antwi gave Olympics its second win this season; the team remains unbeaten in five games and has moved to the league’s summit.

Speaking after the heavy loss in the Accra derby, coach Tanko was disappointed with his team’s performance, especially in the first half.

“Very bad (performance); I mean we had a very bad first half I mean with two mistakes, we gave them the game. It’s very painful but they deserved to win," he said.

"When you are down 3-0 in 20 minutes, definitely your confidence will vanish and I mean this is what happened. We are going to prepare for Real Tamale United on Friday and then hope that everything will be fine," he added.

The defeat leave Accra Lions at the 13th opposition with five points.
