Paratici: Ronaldo setting incredible example at Juventus

Published on: 03 January 2019

The impact of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus hasn’t solely been felt on the field of play, with sporting director Fabio Paratici revealing how important a presence he has been in so many areas.

His stats on the field of play have proven his quality and it hasn’t taken long for the former Real Madrid man to adjust to life in Italy, scoring 14 goals and contributing five assists in his 18 Serie A starts to date.

However, Paratici was also keen to point out that having a phenomenon such as Ronaldo in the dressing room has brought so many other players at the club up another level, given the high standards he sets.

“With his arrival, everyone felt a little bigger, everyone felt more important and he improved everyone. The young players watched him train and started to work like him and it increased their level by 20 to 30 percent,” he told Record.

“When everyone sees how the best in the world, I would say the best of all time, does his job then it is an example to everyone else. He comes an hour before training starts and leaves an hour after it ends.

“So if he can do that and he is the best ever, then how could you do a little less than him? Ronaldo has set a challenge and became an example for everyone.”

The Bianconeri director also had no qualms about doubling down on why he believes Ronaldo has earned the title of the greatest player ever and a man who he hopes can help end the club’s 23-year wait for Champions League success.

“To classify someone as the best ever, we must look at the titles that he has won. If you are very good but have never won anything, then it is very difficult to be classed among the elite,” continued Paratici.

“Cristiano is undoubtedly the man who has won the most titles in history. The numbers back it up. We do hope that he can help us win the Champions League but it is a very difficult competition with games that are decided by small details.

“Nothing guarantees that having the best players ensures that you will win it. You also have to be a little lucky but if we were already competitive before Ronaldo arrived, now with him then we are even more so.”
