Published on: 30 May 2023

In an exciting clash of talent and determination, the stage is set for a captivating showdown as the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers are set to kick off.

Anticipation is running high as the formidable Black Queens of Ghana gear up to face off against Guinea in the highly-anticipated first round.

On Tuesday, May 30, in Cairo, Egypt, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the road-map and the drawing of lots for the first round.

Zambia represented Africa in the most recent Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, and the Shepolopolo will begin their journey towards a potential back-to-back qualification in the second round.

The winner of the two-leg tie will play the winner of the match between Guinea-Bissau and Benin. Ghana will go to Guinea first before playing our West African neighbors in the return leg.

If the Queens are able to pass the first obstacle, they would likely face Zambia/Mali in the third phase of the qualifiers before moving on to the fourth and final stage.

The first round of matches is set for July 10–18, 2023, the second round for October 23–31, the third round for February 19–28, 2024, and the final round for April 1–9, 2024.

Black Queens under head coach Nora Häuptle has made some international friendly games to prepare themselves for the qualifiers and other assignments.
