Partey amongst Atletico players on yellow cards but in no risk of suspension in knockout stage

Ghanaian international Thomas Teye Partey is amongst a number of Atletico Madrid players on yellow cards in the Uefa Champions League Group stage but does not risk being suspended if he picks up a booking against Lokomotiv Moscow tomorrow.

Tomorrow's match with the Russian giants will be played at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano with the Madrid-based club required to win to cement their qualification to the knockout stage.

Quite a number of their players are on yellows cards and were feared to be risking the possibility of serving suspension if they did pick up cards tomorrow.

However, following through checks in the Uefa rules, footballghana.com can report that neither Thomas Partey nor any of his teammates will serve a match ban in the next phase of the competition whether they pick up yellow cards on the matchday or not.

The likes of Diego Costa, Thomas Partey, Felipe, Koke, Jan Oblak, Alvaro Morata Mario Hermoso, Renan Lodi, Saul Niguez and Hector Herrera are all on cards but will have nothing to worry going into the crucial match against Lokomotiv Moscow.
