Pellegrini seeks home comforts

Manuel Pellegrini hopes home advantage will be crucial when West Ham United take on Chelsea at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Chelsea have won their first five Premier League fixtures of the campaign while the Hammers, after losing their opening four matches, got back on track by securing an impressive 3-1 victory at Everton last Sunday.

The London Stadium has often been a difficult place to play for West Ham, but they have a crucial week coming up as they host Macclesfield Town in the Carabao Cup before taking on Manchester United next Saturday.

Pellegrini said: "It could be an advantage for us if we play here at home and we believe that we can continue playing the same way against any team.

"Now it is Chelsea, next week it is Macclesfield and Manchester United. We have three games at home and we must try to play the same way we did the last game.

"Chelsea are a team that moves the ball very quickly. We are going to try to do also the same thing.

"Of course the midfield have a very important role in that moment and the less space you need to do it in is better for the team. So we'll see on Sunday which team we put in."

West Ham, 9/4 to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this term, can be backed at 19/4 to beat Chelsea and 8/1 to draw 1-1 with the in-form Blues.
