Pellegrino desperate for Southampton to get over Leicester mauling

Published on: 14 December 2017

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino is keen for his team to get back on track after a 4-1 home loss to Leicester.

"It's my responsibility to try to inspire my team," he says. "For the last week or so against Manchester City, Bournemouth and Arsenal we showed really good face but this game surprised everyone.

"It was a bad game from the beginning, but as we conceded they got better and our confidence was down."

He added: "In the second half we tried to push but it was hard for us to bounce back but the main feeling watching the game was that we made mistakes with our lack of connection.

"Three days ago we showed a different face and now in two days time we have another chance to play well and we want to play this game as quick as possible.

"But I am concerned and I need to try to find a solution."
