The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has issued a statement clarifying recent comments made by Yussif Chibsah, the Head of Player Relations at the PFAG, regarding match fixing allegations involving players from King Faisal Football Club and Hearts of Oak.

Chibsah, during an interview about two weeks ago, revealed that some of his former teammates had accepted bribes from an unnamed Hearts of Oak official to deliberately lose a game.

He further mentioned that the owner of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grusah, had employed certain tactics to expose his players' involvement in the match-fixing scheme.

The PFAG has now stepped forward to provide clarity, emphasizing that Chibsah's reference to the alleged incident dates back more than two decades when he was an active player in the Ghana Premier League.

In a statement released today, the PFAG addressed the interview and the specific anecdote mentioned by Chibsah, stating, "With regard to the interview in question and the specific anecdote referred to, Mr. Chibsah was recounting an event that occurred over 20 years ago to warn current players against accepting bribes and to advocate for the preservation of their reputation and the integrity of our game."
