Phil Neville Backs Up His Brother & Tells Liverpool Keeper Loris Karius to 'Shut Your Mouth'

Published on: 11 December 2016

Phil Neville has waged into the war between his brother Gary and Liverpool's Loris Karius by bluntlytelling the BBC's Match of the Day programme that the German should shut his mouth.

The Reds keeper has become embroiled in a battle with Sky Sports Pundit Gary Neville after Karius took exception to comments made by the former Manchester United defender and subsequently labelled him a failed manager.

Not one to take a backwards step, Gary then responded in-turn, by issuing a sarcastic response on his Instagram page where he said: "My sincere apologies Karius. You're right. A failed manager hasn't a clue. I won't copy your great fan, pundit and club legend again."

But whilst Karius has yet to respond to Gary's comeback, it's clear that brotherly love still exists between the Neville siblings, as Phil tore into the Liverpool keeper when speaking on Match of the Day on Sunday evening.

The former Everton star said (as quoted bySportsMole):"My criticism is not necessarily the mistakes, it's more the article he (Karius)did in midweek.

"When you're a young player and you're making mistakes or you're breaking into the team, you do your training, you do your practice, work as hard as you possibly can, you play on a Saturday and you say nothing to nobody.

"He's just sticking up for his brother!"

Phil Neville says Karius needs to shut up and get on with his job#MOTD2 https://t.co/jUKEuyB4om

"Until you've got a couple of seasons under your belt, then you can come out shouting your mouth off and having a go at pundits. That's been the biggest mistake he's made for me. Keep your mouth shut, do your job, go home, have your tea and play football!"

Karius once again came under the spotlight during Liverpool's 2-2 draw with West Ham, as many believe the German should have saved Dimitri Payet's free kick which at the time, brought the Hammers level.

Although Karius must quickly move on toprepare for his team's match with Middlesbrough on Wednesday,we will be eagerly awaiting the Liverpool goalkeeper's next move, as the war of wordsbetween him and the Neville brothers continues to simmer nicely.
