Bayern Munich captainPhilipp Lahm has admitted that the current German league leaders aren't at the level required to win the Champions League.

Writing inhis column forGoal, the retired German international admitted: "The first Champions League match against Atletico in Madrid has shown that our performances are not yet good enough for the top level.

"To win the Champions League for the second time we must improve several things.I think that it will be important to find the right balance between feeling relaxed and tense."

The German giants lost toAtlético Madrid in September and currently sit second behind the side that beat them 1-0 in the Champions League group stage.

Despite the loss, there are still three matches to be played, meaning that they can still finish above the Spanish outfit, which would mean a more favourable draw in the next round.

Bayern Munich have now won 14 consecutive Champions League home games.
