Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has revealed how gutted he is to be on the sidelines with an ankle injury, but has vowed to return stronger after revealing his recovery progress on social media.

The Spaniard picked up the ankle knock during the club's Premier League north London derby clash against Tottenham Hotspur before the international break, and was made worse during a training session with the Spanish U21 squad.

It has been reported that Bellerin, after further tests back in London with the Gunners, will be on the sidelines for up to four weeks, despite being hopeful of a swift return to the first team, and will miss crucial fixtures for the club, including their visit to Old Trafford to take on Jose Mourinho's Manchester United on Saturday.

However, the youngster hasn't let this bad news down-hearten his mood too much, after Bellerin posted a picture of himself on Instagram working on his fitness as the rest of his squad prepare for their league match in Manchester.

Underneath the rehab picture, the Arsenal left-back wrote: "Gutted to be out injured. Working hard already to come back stronger."

The Gunners fans will be fearful after missing their first choice fullback for such a big game this weekend, and he could be joined by the likes of Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez, with coach Arsene Wenger set to make a last minute decision on the latter on Friday.
