PHOTO: John Terry Shows Touch of Class After Gesture to Sunderland Fan With 2 Months to Live

Published on: 10 December 2016

Chelsea skipper John Terry has had limited opportunities on the pitch under new boss Antonio Conte following injuries and a new formation that appears to be working well for his current starters.

However, not to let this get in the way of putting in a good performance off the field, the former England international has gone out of his way to pull of a classy act for an ill child this Christmas.

The 36-year-old has used Instagram to raise awareness of a young boy called Bradley Lowery, who only has two months to live after struggling to battle his cancer.

Terry shared a post that read: "If anyone can spare just one Christmas card this year, please sent it to this lad. Bradley just has two months to live. His last wish is to receive thousands of Christmas cards. Please share and spread the word and make his dreams come true."

Magnificent applause around St. James' Park for young @SunderlandAFC fan, Bradley Lowery. This one's for you, @Bradleysfight. pic.twitter.com/VLjdCy87F6

Bradley, a Sunderland fan, won't just be getting a card from anyone this Christmas however, as Terry has decided to pull off an extremely thoughtful and inspiring gesture by not only sending the young lad a festive card, but also a signed shirt to cherish in his last few months.

On his Instagram account, alongside the shared picture, the Blues defender wrote: "Hearing this news has broken my heart, I will be sending young Bradley a card and a signed shirt, I'm urging all my followers to make this little boy's dream come true. Thinking of you little man."

He may not be everyone's cup of tea, but Terry knows where to put his heart for those less fortunate. Hats off to you Johnny.
