PHOTO: Liverpool's Loris Karius Officially Takes The Worst Goal-Kick in History vs Sunderland

Published on: 27 November 2016

It's very hard to say something is the best or worst in history, seeing as no one has lived through the whole of it, but sometimes you just have that feeling that a particular moment tops the lot.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius could well have taken the worst ever goal-kick during his team's 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend.

Whilst goal-kicks are supposed to see the ball kicked forwards downfield, Karius somehow managed to kick it backwards and out behind his own byline.

In the German's defence, he was attempting to pass the ball to a teammate out-wide, but was left red faced as his poor pass drifted out for a Sunderland corner instead.

Karius could at least take comfort from shutting out Sunderland, making it the first time the Reds have kept back-to-back clean sheets in the league this season.

He may have established himself as the number one at Anfield, but the keeper may need to do some work on his footwork.

Might be best to stick to the good old fashioned long punt up-field for a while Loris.
