Fans and well-wishers of Bofoakwa Tano used 50 days to build a new dressing room to make sure the club is ready for their Ghana Premier League (GPL) return.

The Sunyani town club made a return to the Ghana top flight after a 16-year absence by beating Techiman Eleven Wonders on penalties during the Division One League Zone One playoff final.

It became apparent that Bofoakwa Tano would struggle to meet club licensing requirements for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season because of the bad state of the Sunyani Coronation Park.

In a move to help the club make facilities ready for the new season, fans and well-wishers made donations to help build a new dressing room in 50 days.

People who could not make donations supported by offering free labour to help in the construction works. The dressing room is named “The People’s Project”.

Bofoakwa Tanko’s return to the Ghana Premier League has been a fairytale one so far after three matches.

Picking two wins and drawing the other, the latest of those games was a 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak on Saturday. They are now top of the league with seven points from the three games.
