Pictures: Ghana targets Inaki and Nico Williams land in Ghana

Inaki Williams and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao have landed in Ghana for holidays after a packed 2021/22 season.

The brothers, who had been sought for selection to the Black Stars, arrived on Monday night and are spending time with relatives and friends.

According to reports, the Ghana Football Association will likely meet the Bilbao strikers and persuade them to switch nationalities.

Despite only having one appearance for the Spanish national team, Inaki Williams is eligible to play for Ghana.

Nico Williams first represented Spain with the under-18 squad in 2020, scoring two goals in four games.

He was called up to the Spain under-19s in February 2021 and made his debut for the under-21s in September of the same year.

In an interview last year, Inaki Williams raised concerns about changing nationality for Ghana.

"My parents are from Accra, and I really enjoy going. But

I wasn't born or raised there, my culture is here, and there are players who would mean more."

"I don't think it would be right to take the place of someone who really deserves to go and feels Ghana 100%,"
