Published on: 01 March 2017

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has decided to stay quiet on the discussion regarding his future after his last comments made his life "difficult".

The Manchester United and Real Madrid target recently said that he may have to depart the German giants in order to achieve his desired goals, which resulted in him getting a mouthful from club chiefs.

The Gabon international has also repeatedly stated his ambition to one day play for Los Blancos but for now, sporting director Michael Zorc has instructed the 27-year-old to simply focus on his football.

When quizzed about his future,Aubameyang told DAZN, as perYahoo: "I really don't know, I'm just focused on this season and I don't want to think too much about that right now."

He added with a smile: "The last weeks were difficult after my last words so I don't want to talk about that."

Dortmund currently sit third in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig and have a crucial second-leg Champions League tie at home to Benfica just on the horizon - they trail 1-0 from the first leg.

The German side also have the prospect of their rearranged DFB-Pokal tie against third division Sportfreunde Lotte which was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The winner of that tie will travel to Bayern in the semi-final.

Aubameyang has enjoyed another fruitful campaign in front of goal, scoring 23 goals in all competitions.

However, the mystery surrounding his future has impacted his form in recent weeks and everything pointsto yet another big-name transfer saga in the summer.
