Tottenham ran away with a 3-0 victory over Premier Leaguestruggler's Hull on Wednesday night with Christian Eriksen hitting a brace and coming so close to his first career hat-trick.

The Danish midfielder managed to find the net in both half's and then in the dying stages had his free-kick tipped onto the post - Victor Wanyama tucked away the rebound.

Following the victory, the gaffer had nothing but praise for his star man:"Yes - I'm very pleased he was very aggressive in possession. That was the aggressiveness we want for our players.

"I'm very pleased for him as he's working very hard. It's important not only our strikers score goals."

Spurs looked at relative ease for the whole match; despite this, the Argentine boss didn't think it wasn't a hard-fought battle:"Maybe it looked easy but it was difficult. They had a very good chance to score. In football sometimeswe need to have some luck.

"The three points keep up is a very good position. We need to keep our faith and reduce the gap - if not keep the same position

"We are playing well - it's important at home to take the result. We feel well here and we need to work hard to keep that feeling."

Despite a dip in form previously, Tottenham now sit fifth in the table and are only three points behind Pep's Manchester City as they continue to chase the top four
